Note: Zincography was a planographic printing process that used zinc plates. Alois Senefelder first mentioned zinc’s lithographic use as a substitute for Bavarian limestone in his 1801 English patent specifications. In 1834, Federico Lacelli patented a zincographic printing process, producing large maps called géoramas.

NotesFreshly arrived in Paris from Barcelona at the age of 19, Picasso to make a living, like many other foreign artists who sought fame in the capital French, the painter had to resort to working as an illustrator for magazines such as Le Frou-Frou?. In those 1901 drawings with cabaret themes, collected in the publication, the influence of Toulouse-Lautrec is clear. These are the first published works by Picasso.
