NotesLucien Neuquelman was an painter of French landscapes and Brittany coastal-seascapes. He attended the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Toulon and was a student of Othon Friesz, whose pupil he would later become. He studied at the Academie de la Grande-Chaumiere and in the 1930s became a pattern designer for the Lyons silk trade. Toward the end of his life he adopted an appealing pointillist style reminiscent of Henri Edmond Cross and Paul Signac.
