NotesAlfred Vickers was a self taught landscape artist whose light and sparkling style has been compared to Boudin. He exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1831-68 also exhibiting at the British Institute (125 works) as well as at Suffolk Street. Vickers painted English views, especially river scenes in a rapid sketchy style. His use of a range of pale greens is very distinctive. Works by the artist are held by the Art Galleries of Glasgow, Nottingham and Sheffield.
