NotesVala Moro was a dancer and a prolific but mysterious artist working in Vienna in the 1920s. Neither her birth place nor the date of her death are known. Her graphic work, which is mainly assigned to Art Deco, includes erotic , also homoerotic, watercolors and etchings, which were also sold in the USA in the 1930s. Among her better known works is the suite of 10 prints under the title "Dance" published by Artur Wolf Verlag Vienna in 1924 published in a small edition of 350. The art collection of Katharina Wolf, Countess Attems, Palais Coburg, liquidated in 1933, contained an extensive collection of works by Moro.
In 1924 Moro danced in the Wiener Konzerthaus with Andrei Jerschik, in an extensive program, including the dance drama The Burning Girl to Tchaikovsky's 6th Symphony.
