NotesLéon Félix Georges Bonhomme was borne in Saint-Denis. He was a student of Jean-Jacques Henner at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, he then attended the workshop of Gustave Moreau where he met and was influenced by Georges Rouault. He obtained an honorable mention at the Salon des Artistes Français of 1897.

A professor of drawing at the school of the Rue du Corbillon in Saint-Denis, he was called in 1889 by the municipality to decorate the walls of the monumental staircase of the new Town Hall. He executed three allegorical frescoes called Man's Emancipatory Thought.

Bonhomme died in 1924 at the Lariboisière Hospital and was buried in the cemetery of Saint-Denis.
